In Paradisum is written in memory of Deacon Gregory Jewett who was a good friend and mentor during my formative years. He passed away in 2019, and when I found this text, it seemed very fitting. I originally wrote this piece to be sung by a group of friends, all of whom were very close to him.

In paradisum deducant te Angeli:

In tuo adventu suscipiant te Martyres,

Et perducant te in civitatem

Sanctam Jerusalem.

Chorus Angelorum te suscipiat,

Et cum Lazaro quondam paupere

Aeternam habeas requiem.

May the angels lead you into paradise;

May the Martyrs welcome you upon your arrival,

And lead you into the holy city of Jerusalem.

May a choir of angels welcome you,

And, with poor Lazarus of old,

May you have eternal rest.
